Beginner's Guide to Shore Jigging
By Malabar Tackles · 1 September 2026
Shore jigging lets you target pelagic species from rocks and beaches. Use a 9-10ft medium-heavy rod, a 4000-5000 reel loaded with PE2-3 braid, and 20-60g metal jigs. Cast far, let the jig sink, then retrieve with sharp upward sweeps. Early morning and dusk are prime feeding windows.
